Fauna Works Environmental Advisors provide expert advice based on legislative requirements and best practice safety and environmental standards across all construction phases.
What We Do
- Provide environmental Advice including aspects such as noise, chemical management, CSG water, soil management, drainage, erosion and sediment control, water quality, waste management, nuisance complaints and rehabilitation
- Maintain and report Environmental performance statistics
- Ensure learning from Incidents, industry environmental alerts, systems for communication are in place and maintained for facility staff and contractors
- Provide general support, training and implementation for Environmental controls and programs
- Support and assist facility managers with the implementation and review of ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System
- Maintain a close liaison/supporting relationship between the field operations and HSSE teams
What We Do
- Implementation of Environmental controls including Biosecurity controls, Soil & Erosion Controls and Vegetation Management
- Investigating environmental incidents and biosecurity events
- Reporting to Client, Project Manager and other senior managers on Construction and Environmental Management Plan performance and implementation
- Coordinating environmental audits
- Monitoring waste generation and management for compliance
- Coordinate Environmental Advisors and Fauna Spotter Catchers
- Providing technical advice to the wider project team when required
- Preparation and implementation of site inductions, environmental toolbox talk and facilitate environmental workshops
- Reviewing and implementing project specific documents including Construction and Environmental Management Planning documentation
- Provide field presence to ensure regulatory compliance and environmental outcomes are achieved by implementing and driving environmental management systems
- Provide Environmental and regulatory advice relating to the EPBC Act (Cwth) and EP Act (QLD)
- Support compliance departments with local & State standards and requirements, particularly those associated with the environmental regulatory bodies
Our Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering
- Construction industry White Card
- Approved training in Erosion and Sediment Control (to meet International Erosion Control Association (IECA) examination for Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC))
- 4 WD Training and assessment
- Working at heights certificate
- Working within confined spaces certificate
